LPO FUNharmonics Family Concert: Musical Menagerie

FUNharmonics Family Concert

Stravinsky The Firebird Suite (excerpts)
Stephen McNeff The Tale of Peter Rabbit
Matthew Hindson Dangerous Creatures (world première)

David Angus conductor
Chris Jarvis presenter

Join us for a musical menagerie featuring animals big, small, cute and ferocious! Mr McGregor from Beatrix Potter’s Tale of Peter Rabbit certainly has an affection for ‘birds and fishes and beasties’– particularly when they’re served up on a plate! This enchanting musical version of the story by Stephen McNeff rubs shoulders with a rather more inedible feathered creature, Stravinsky’s spectacularly powerful Firebird. But beware of the prowling beasts that are waiting in the wings courtesy of Matthew Hindson, whose new work Dangerous Creatures is sure to scare, delight and enthrall!

This concert will last for about an hour.

Dangerous Creatures has been commissioned by the London Philharmonic Orchestra.

Foyer Events throughout the morning
You can try your hand at playing an orchestral instrument in one of our Have-a-Go sessions, get your face painted or learn circus skills – all in the foyers before and after the performance.

Performance will be sign interpreted. For further information call 020 7840 4205 or email: samantha.kendall@lpo.org.uk
