Birmingham Contemporary Music Group Family Concerts - 'When Words Sing'

The human voice, in all its colour, virtuosity and daring is the focus of Birmingham Contemporary Music Group’s annual day of Family Concerts at the CBSO Centre, Birmingham.

The concerts are for children aged seven+ and their parents, and their aim is to introduce contemporary music in a refreshingly direct way, completely re-inventing the traditional idea of the concert. Since their inception, the concerts have won widespread praise for their playful and fearless presentation, introducing their young audiences to today’s iconic composers from Birtwistle to Zenakis.

The Art Room Come and Sing Concert 2009

This year's fundraising concert is the fourth such event organised by The Art Room, a locally based educational charity.

Philharmonia Orchestra - Family Music Day: Winter Wonderland at De Montfort Hall

Step into a Winter Wonderland with the Philharmonia Orchestra players as they guide you through festive favourites in a fun, interactive concert for all the family. With free craft and percussion workshops taking place before the concert at 10.15am and 11am, and free-for-all craft activities from 10.15am, there's something for everyone. CBSO have another scheme “Audiences for Tomorrow” on CBSO promoted concerts in the Symphony Hall. They offer a limited number of tickets at special prices for secondary school groups, subject to availability. Teachers can call Katy Russell on 0121 616 6530.

City of Birmingham Symphony Orchestra Student Offers

CBSO offers standby tickets to all those in full time education, and those under 25. These will be available at 13:00 on the day of an evening performance, and at 10:00 for a matinée concert. Students or young people must have proof of eligibility to claim their tickets for £4 each. Note: the cbso reserves the right to allocate these tickets in certain areas of the hall.

City of Birmingham Symphony Orchestra Offers for Children

Family tickets are available at all CBSO promoted concerts taking place in Birmingham Symphony Hall. One or more adults must be accompanied by their children under the age of 16, with a maximum group size of 6 people. Family tickets are available in all areas, and will be allocated subject to availability. Price of family ticket: per adult £17, per child £8.50.
